School Holidays

The school holidays have finally arrived, and I have 2 whole weeks of reading and relaxing ahead of me. Delicious sleep-ins, and lazy Winter mornings rugged up in blankets and bobble-hats await. Well, that’s the theory. In reality I will probably still drive my 20yo son to work, spend my days doing the ‘Spring’ cleaning that I never quite got around to, and lament the sad fact that Queensland doesn’t actually ‘do’ Winter. Still, reading will definitely be a major factor in there somewhere, of that I am absolutely certain.

June’s Reading

June has been quite a good month for reading, I have enjoyed 6 books in both Audible and NetGalley format. Ahhhh, whatever did I do without them?!

Audible has become my ‘getting ready for work’ accompaniment, instead of the radio in the mornings, and I enjoy listening to my stories as I put on make-up and work my way through the mundane morning chores associated with the business of work preparation.

It is also perfect for those times when my hands are otherwise occupied with cooking the evening meal or vacuuming. And let’s not forget the nights when my eyes are plain old too tired from looking at a computer screen all day, and just want to rest. Audible is one of the best inventions of the century and I can’t sing their praises enough.

So I look forward to the days ahead, full of listening to Audible, reading on my Kindle, paperbacks and keeping this blog updated.
