Kindle Surprise

Something has happened that I truly never thought would…I have a Kindle! And what’s more…I love it!
After over 12 months of reading my NetGalley books on my trusty old iPhone 7Plus I finally admitted, “You know what. It’s probably easier on an eReader.” And so off I trundled to Officeworks and bought my very own Kindle Paperwhite. It’s the latest one (waterproof) because, let’s face it, you never know when I might drop it in the bath.
At first, I just used it for my NetGalley reading, but then there was a super special on a book recommended to me by a Facebook friend, then another, and before I knew it I was downloading other books just because…
My brand-new paperbacks are glaring at me reproachfully from my TBR piles, left to gather dust as I play with my new toy. I will get back to them, I know I will, eventually, but my Kindle is all shiny and new and feels so nice in my hand, and I can take it (and sooo many books) with me anywhere, it fits in my handbag. All the things that everyone told a resistant little me for all those years are true.
I haven’t got a cover for it or anything posh like that, I can only go so far with my baby steps into the technological world, but I did buy a book sleeve from DuskAngelStore on Etsy to keep it safe, which is pretty and much cheaper than the expensive options in the shops.
Paperbacks are still my preference, but I have discovered that eReaders are not the horrid, Devil-gadgets that I thought they were, and I will enjoy them both with a smile, and a cuppa or two.
