Winter Musings

I’m sitting alone, absently gazing at the gorgeous Winter sky, which here in Queensland is a brilliant blue, and counting down the days until my next work break (32 in case you are curious). I look forward to my and of term breaks simply because I can turn off the dratted alarm and wake up to my own body clock, yawn, stretch and reach for my ever-present book. I catch up with friends’ adventures in the Alps, on Pacific Islands and the like through Instagram and Facebook and while away the hours, content to be visiting my own exotic lands through the pages of my current read. I am happy to stay in my comfy chair, solving mysteries, falling in love and living several lives without leaving the safety of my own home. Although, this holiday promises a few real-life adventures in the form of a camping trailer, a friend’s property and some actual people…but the books will obviously still be front and centre!
