Getting up to date: - 2017 has been a whirlwind of reading, both at home, on a cruise, in the country and, well, everywhere else. Life has been so hectic that the computer has been relegated to the dusty shelf while I collapse in a heap each evening after work.

In amongst all that frenetic activity I have been continuing with my passion for reading and have managed to exceed my Goodreads challenge already by 5 books, and we still have 5 months to go before the end of the year. There have been a few Readathons thrown in, a launch for a brilliant new book and the discovery of Audible (OMG how have I never used this before/).

Audible: - My commute to and from work each day is being made much more pleasant by the addition of an FM transmitter, connecting my phone to my car speakers, so that I can listen to books instead of the radio (I have an older car). I have discovered the joys of listening to autobiographies read by the actual authors as well as novels read by very talented narrators. The added bonus of listening while ironing, cooking, cleaning the bathroom etc means I absolutely LOVE Audible.

Finding Gobi:- Have you heard about the little dog who stole hearts all around the world by joining in an ultra-marathon and ultimately finding herself a new home in another country?

Dion Leonard's incredible story has captured the imagination of thousands of readers and I was privileged to be a part of the Launch Team. Dion met the little stray pup at the beginning of the ultra-marathon in China and by the end of it they were family. Dion returned to Scotland to begin the task of bringing her home when the unthinkable happened - she went missing. Dion's frantic search through the streets of Beijing forms the rest of this heart-warming story which luckily has a wonderfully happy ending.
